The Taping Room with Thomas Cadrot

In the taping room, all mistakes are welcome….

My approach to acting is very much instinctive. After going over the basics of breaking
down a scene: intention, motivation plus the usual suspects of who/what/where/when,
the goal is to let yourself be free with the material. Whether you’re preparing a tape for
submission or just want to work on a specific scene to sharpen your tool, this time is
yours. And with that in mind, all choices and ideas are encouraged. Freedom is key and
fear of failure is nonexistent.

We will work in tandem to produce the best quality work and highlight your strengths as
a performer. No stone will be left unturned and all the technical aspects (slates, lighting,
eyeline, physicality etc.) will also be covered.

My Story

Like most of us in this crazy industry, I wasn’t born into it and I certainly didn’t have
unanimous support when I decided to join my fellow thespians. Like most of us in this
wild profession, I just had a dream, a bunch of “what ifs” and a fire inside that was stoked whenever I would immerse myself in all these beautiful stories on the small and silver screen.

As a European transplant, I moved to Vancouver 13 years ago and haven’t looked back
since. Every year as an actor brings its set of challenges but also “level-ups”. From
background work, to commercial bookings, to my first one-liner, guest appearance,
recurring role and multiple leads, this journey has been anything but easy but deeply
rewarding. I now know that there will never come a day where I have all the answers,
but each day gives me more experience and that experience is what I hope to share
with you.
